PDVVPCOE professor honoured with MTRES Teaching Excellence Award 2018

Education plays a vital role in building the future of our nation by transforming lives and communities. We have several educator heroes who help students aim high and achieve their potential, often meeting and overcoming considerable challenges along the way. Recently Delhi based MT Research & Educational Services (MTRES) came up with Teaching Excellence Awards (TEA) 2018, to recognize the monumental role teachers play in our society as they instil a desire to learn and achieve and create tomorrow’s leaders. Meet one of the awardees, Dr. Deepak Vidhate, Head & Associate Professor, Department of Information Technology, Padmashri Dr. Vithalrao Vikhe Patil (PDVVP) College of Engineering, Ahmednagar, Maharashtra, who has been honoured with Excellent Teacher Award in MTRES TEA 2018.

Dr Deepak Vidhate completed his Bachelors & Masters in Computer Engineering from Savitribai Phule Pune University & Ph.D. from College of Engineering, Pune (CoEP). He is associated with Padmashri Dr. Vithalrao Vikhe Patil College of Engineering, Ahmednagar, from past sixteen years. His areas of research include Machine Learning, Multiagent Learning, Data Mining, Artificial Intelligence and Theory of Computation. He has published more than 30 research papers in high ranked indexed international journals and has more than 140 citations to his papers.

He is the Subject Chairman for the subject Natural Language Processing of BE IT First Semester of Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune. He has been invited as resource person to conduct expert lecture on various topics including Research Methodology, Machine Learning and Image Processing for UG and PG students at different engineering institutions. Two of his UG project groups were shortlisted for the final round of Smart India Hackathon 2018 organized by Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India. He had received grant from BCUD, Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune, to organize two national level & four state level conferences.

Dr Deepak Vidhate is active member of various professional bodies including Computer Society of India, The Institution of Engineers (India), ISTE, ACM & IEEE. Presently he is officiating as Joint Honorary Secretary of The Institution of Engineers (India), Ahmednagar Local Centre. He is the recipient of “Best Faculty of the Year – Published Research” award presented by Computer Society of India, Mumbai Chapter in February 2018. He has also received “Research Excellence Award” by Institute of Exploring Advances in Engineering, Bangalore.

MT Research & Educational Services is an initiative to bridge the gap between academics and industry. It was founded in 2013 with the combination of industry, academic and research personnel.
