Educator from RECW Kurnool honoured with MTRES Teaching Excellence Award 2019

Education plays a vital role in building the future of our nation by transforming lives and communities. We have several educator heroes who help students aim high and achieve their potential, often meeting and overcoming considerable challenges along the way. Recently Delhi based MT Research & Educational Services (MTRES) came up with the second edition of their Teaching Excellence Awards (TEA) 2019, to recognize the monumental role teachers play in our society to create tomorrow’s leaders as they instil a desire to learn and achieve. The awards celebrate the efforts of all those who go above and beyond to promote excellence within our education system. Meet Dr. Prathusha Perugu, Professor, Department of CSE, Ravindra Engineering College for Woman, Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh, who has been honoured with Excellent Teacher Award in MTRES TEA 2019.

Dr. Prathusha has over 13 years of teaching experience in the field of Computer Science and Engineering. She holds a doctorial degree from Sri Padmavathi Mahila Viswavidyalayam, Tirupathi, under the esteemed guidance of Dr. S. Jyothi. She has worked for a DST project titled Identification of Crabs and lobster using novel Image Processing Techniques. She holds a M.Tech degree from JNTU Anantapur. She received College Topper Award in her M.Tech. She also achieved university II Rank in her under graduation.

She started her career as Assistant Professor in Dept of CSE at RGMCET, Nandyal. She served the institute from 2006 to 2018. She served many roles in the college as BOS member, Setting up files for NAAC, NBA, UGC Autonoumous committees. She played a key role in setting up Woman Empowerment Cell, Grievance cell in the college. As her family relocated to Kurnool, she joined as Professor in Dept of CSE in Ravindra College of Engineering for Women. She is project coordinator for conducting reviews for projects and acted as judge for various cultural competitions in the Institure.

She recently received Best Faculty Award for the year 2019 in 1st International Scientist Awards on Engineering, Science and Medicine in Sep’2019 and Women Researcher Award for the year 2019 in 2nd International Awards on Engineering, Science and Medicine at Vishakapatnam. Her book chapter in Springer added a revenue of around 22 lakhs to the publisher and held the 5th rank in most downloaded chapters. She received Best Paper Award for a recent publication in a UGC national conference. She is life member of Computer Society of India (CSI) and associate member of UACEE, and life member of Indian Society of Medical Sciences (ISMS). She is a member of IRED, IAENG, SDIWC, SAISE.

She is a reviewer of many reputed journals / publishers like IGI Global, American Journal of Computer Science and Technology and Journal of Intelligent systems. She is also a reviewer for the upcoming conference CSAE to be held between 22-24th October in Sanya, China. She is an esteemed member of National Advisory Committee for International Conference on Chip, Circutory, Current, Coding, Combustion and Composities (IC7-19) to be held in November 2019 organized by Sri Sairam college of Engineering, Bengaluru and IFERP.  She is presently working for interdisciplinary research of medical sciences and computer sciences.
