Educator from SRMIST honoured with MTRES Teaching Excellence Award 2018

Education plays a vital role in building the future of our nation by transforming lives and communities. We have several educator heroes who help students aim high and achieve their potential, often meeting and overcoming considerable challenges along the way. Recently Delhi based MT Research & Educational Services (MTRES) came up with Teaching Excellence Awards (TEA) 2018, to recognize the monumental role teachers play in our society as they instil a desire to learn and achieve and create tomorrow’s leaders. Meet one of the awardees, Ms. Divya Navamani J, Assistant Professor, Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST), Kattankulathur, Tamil Nadu, who has been honoured with Promising Teacher Award in MTRES TEA 2018.

Ms. Divya received her B.E. degree from Madras University and the M.E. degree from Sathyabama University in power electronics and Industrial drives. She received MS Swaminathan Award with gold medal for securing university rank during her M.E. She started her teaching career with Sri Lakshmi Ammal Engineering college, Chennai, in 2002. She is associated with SRMIST since 2007. She had also undergone a certified programme on TQM for teachers.

She is pursuing her Ph.D. in power converters at SRMIST. She is currently working in the area of Industrial drives. Her research interests include power electronics, DC-DC converters, and hybrid electric vehicle. She has published around 30 papers in national, international journals. She conducted many national workshops in various field and community service programmes. She is the life member of IEI, ISTE. She is also an annual member of IEEE and ISCA.
