SRMIST Educator honoured with MTRES Teaching Excellence Award 2018

Education plays a vital role in building the future of our nation by transforming lives and communities. We have several educator heroes who help students aim high and achieve their potential, often meeting and overcoming considerable challenges along the way. Recently Delhi based MT Research & Educational Services (MTRES) came up with Teaching Excellence Awards (TEA) 2018, to recognize the monumental role teachers play in our society as they instil a desire to learn and achieve and create tomorrow’s leaders. Meet one of the awardees, Ms. A. Lavanya, Assistant Professor, Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST), Kattankulathur, Tamil Nadu, who has been honoured with Promising Teacher Award in MTRES TEA 2018.

Ms. A. Lavanya has been honoured with MTRES Teaching Excellence Award 2018

Ms. Lavanya has overall 17 years of teaching experience. She did her Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical and Electronics Engineering) from University of Madras and Postgraduation from Sathyabama University. She started her professional career as a lecturer in a polytechnic college in 2001 and then worked in a college affiliated to Anna University in Chennai for five years. She has been associated with SRMIST since 2007.

She is currently pursuing Ph.D. and working in the area of dc-dc converters. Her research interests include DC-DC converter, renewable energy, and microgrid. She has published more than 20 papers in international journals and conferences. She is a life member of ISTE, IE(I) and annual member of IEEE and ISCA. She has organized community service programs targeting unemployed youth, women and school children.

MT Research & Educational Services is an initiative to bridge the gap between academics and industry. It was founded in 2013 with the combination of industry, academic and research personnel. They execute various educational events (Conferences, Seminars, Workshops, Short Term Courses, Trainings and Competitions) throughout India. They provide various educational platforms for direct engagement of students, academicians and corporates. They execute internships and placement drives also in colleges. Website
