Dean of Civil Engineering in VMKVEC Salem honoured with MTRES Research Excellence Award 2019

Our economy is based strongly on technology and innovation and research provides the building block upon which societal growth and advancement is hinged. Research has left an indelible mark on society and will forever be the basis for any genuine advancement in human society. Recently Delhi based MT Research & Educational Services (MTRES) came up with Research Excellence Awards (REA) 2019, to recognize the monumental role Researchers play in our society and to recognize the research excellence and contribution of Editors, Reviewers and Authors in their respective domains. Meet one of the awardees, Dr. T. Subramani, Professor and Dean of Civil Engineering in Vinayaka Missions Kirupananda Variyar Engineering College, Vinayaka Missions Research Foundation (Deemed to be University), Salem, Tamilnadu, who has been honoured with Outstanding Author Award in MTRES REA 2019.

With an illustrious career spanning over 28 years, Prof. Dr. T Subramani has an exhaustive teaching and research experience in the field of Civil Engineering. He completed his graduation (B.E.) from Bharathiar University in 1989 and followed it with Post Graduation (M.E) in Urban Engineering from College of Engineering, Anna University, in 1992. He got awarded Doctoral degree in Civil Engineering specializing in Traffic Engineering and Transportation Planning from Anna University, Chennai. He also got awarded Post Graduation in Business Administration (MBA) from Vinayaka Missions Research Foundation (Deemed to be University), Salem, in 2007. He is associated with the Institution since 1992.

He is serving as Reviewer and Editorial Board Member for many International Journals and has also published over 285 papers in International Journals. He has presented more than 104 papers in conferences, especially 77 in International and 27 in National Level. He has been invited at various conferences and the findings of his research have been presented in national, regional and international conferences. He has authored 7 books and has guided more than 250 PG projects. Currently 3 Ph.D. Scholars are conducting their research under his guidance.

He is serving as Academic Council member and Chairman of Board Of Studies (Civil Engineering) at his Institute. He is also a member of Board of studies in Periyar University. He is serving as examiner and Valuer for B.E and M.E Degree Theory and Practical Examinations for Madras University, Periyar University, Anna University, Annamalai University and Vinayaka Missions Research Foundation (Deemed to be University). He is Question paper setter and Valuer for UG and PG Courses of Civil Engineering in number of Universities.

He is Life Fellow in Institution of Engineers (India) and Institution of Valuers. He is a Life Member in number of Technical Societies and Educational bodies like MISTE, MIGS, MIRC,ISRMTT, UWA, Salem Productivity Council (SPC) and Salem District Small and Tiny Association (SADISSTIA). He has delivered several technical talks. He is a Chartered Civil Engineer and Approved Valuer for many banks. He is a Licensed Building Surveyor in Salem City Municipal Corporation and Licensed Civil Engineer in Salem Local Planning Authority.
