My Life is full of colours : Meet multi-talented Poorva Kulkarni – Thatte, Interior Designer, Artist, Dancer and Founder of Creative Strokes

Poorva Kulkarni – Thatte is an interior and landscape designer and artist from Pune. She hails from a family in Kolhapur who are connoisseurs of art and she was always fascinated by the art and paintings done by her grandfather. No doubt then, she developed the love for painting and art at very young age and has been practicing and studying it since her childhood.

Education

Her love for art drove her to chose Interior Design as a career path. She excelled in her graduation course and was ranked amongst top 5 in Shivaji University, Kolhapur, Maharashtra. During her course, she interned with renowned architects and builders of Kolhapur which helped her get a deep understanding of Interior design, furniture design, product design, landscape design and sculpture and mural making. She was always interested in exploring new places and experimenting with new ideas and techniques. It led her to chose Florence, Italy to do her Masters as she was totally overwhelmed by the art the city has.

She did her Masters in Interior Design from The Florence Institute of Design International (FIDI), Florence, Italy. The masters at FIDI helped her take her design skills altogether to new heights. After a brief stint with a leading Architect firm in Florence, she decided to come back to India and founded her art firm Creative Strokes in 2014.

Demystifying thoughts to predict behavior

Much of what we don't understand about being human is simply in our heads. From those clusters of cells in our head arises the elusive, but powerful, mind. Despite our best attempts to "know ourselves," the truth is that we often know surprisingly little about our own minds, and even less about the way others think. Meet Psychologist Dr. Nitesh Kumar Jha, Clinical Research Officer at INCLEN (The International Clinical Epidemiology Network) Trust International, New Delhi, who has long sought insights into the complex mental processes that dictate human actions, and has made significant strides in lifting that veil of mystery.
