Mohammed belongs to a lower middle class family in Mumbai. He was always attracted towards drawing and sketching since school days. In fact, he still does sketches for his kid’s school work. His tryst with photography started with a film camera back in 1996 when he had purchased a Yashica MF2. He wasn’t aware of the technicalities of photography back then but loved the experience and cherished clicking photos. It quickly became apparent that it wasn’t going to be just a passing phase – his passion continuing on with a craving for knowledge and the urge to learn all aspects of photography. His love for art has turned him into a passionate photographer now who owns a Nikon D800E. Currently based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, he also takes up professional assignments in his spare time.

The road to your destiny is never easy. Many times you find yourselves in no man’s land, some people use you for their own success and there are others who block you from moving forward. But life goes on. I feel all these landmarks in my journey are due to difficulties and challenges I faced and I am thankful for everything.

It was an on-the-go shot, quite typical the way I shoot – sudden and unplanned. It was taken in bright day light, while passing by those skyscrapers. I just got an idea to capture them with my 180° fish eye lens and bang! The result came more dramatic than my expectations. For PSI, I had initially thought to post process this photo in colour but later I went for fine art. It clicked!

A back bencher who loves to learn through exploration is how Mohammed describes his style of photography. He loves peace, colors and fragrances a lot. We can see mostly vibrant colors, peaceful cityscape, travel shots, landscapes water bodies and nature shots in his collections. Most of his photographs show lines, patterns, shapes, leading lines, vanishing points and so on with a distinctively short caption. He rarely travels long distance specially to hunt for his shot, instead, he prefers moving around and capturing his surroundings in ways never thought of and imagined. Doing so gives him an artistic high!

Demystifying thoughts to predict behavior

Much of what we don't understand about being human is simply in our heads. From those clusters of cells in our head arises the elusive, but powerful, mind. Despite our best attempts to "know ourselves," the truth is that we often know surprisingly little about our own minds, and even less about the way others think. Meet Psychologist Dr. Nitesh Kumar Jha, Clinical Research Officer at INCLEN (The International Clinical Epidemiology Network) Trust International, New Delhi, who has long sought insights into the complex mental processes that dictate human actions, and has made significant strides in lifting that veil of mystery.
