Our economy is based strongly on technology and innovation and research provides the building block upon which societal growth and advancement is hinged. Research has left an indelible mark on society and will forever be the basis for any genuine advancement in human society. Recently Delhi based MT Research & Educational Services (MTRES) came up with Research Excellence Awards (REA) 2019, to recognize the monumental role Researchers play in our society and to recognize the research excellence and contribution of Editors, Reviewers and Authors in their respective domains. Meet one of the awardees, Mr. Binu Joe, Professor and Principal-in-charge, C. U. Shah Institute of Nursing, C.U. Shah University, Surendranagar, Gujarat, who has been honoured with Promising Author Award in MTRES REA 2019.

Prof. Binu Joe

Prof. Binu is a Gold medalist of Vinayaka Mission University in M.Sc. Nursing in Pediatrics. He has undergone certificate courses on Introduction to systematic review and meta analysis from John Hopkins University and Understanding clinical research: Behind statistics from University of Cape town.

He started his career as a clinical instructor and then moved on to roles of increasing complexity of being a Lecturer, Asst professor and Vice Principal. He is currently working as the Principal cum professor of C.U. Shah Institue of Nursing, Gujarat.

Prof. Binu has got distinction in research presentations in the field of Nursing. He has published over 13 research papers in various national and international journals. He has presented over 5 papers in multiple national and international conferences. He is currently pursuing Ph.D. and his core research area is Effectiveness of psyeducation on the levels of nomophobia among school going children in Gujarat.

During his extensive career, Prof. Binu has worn multiple hats of professional assignments. He has been the Exam coordinator and Chairman of Board of Studies at C. U. Shah Institute of Nursing. He also served as Inspector of Indian Nursing Council and Gujarat Nursing Council. He has also served as Examiner and paper setter of various universities.

It is the energy from my fellow Nightingales that motivates me to spread the knowledge and virtues of this noble profession.
Prof. Binu Joe

Prof. Binu has authored two textbooks viz; Textbook of Pediatric Nursing and Nursing research and statistics, that have been very well received in the Nursing community. He has been contributing author for various textbooks in the field of Nursing. He is also Editorial Board member of Journals Pub, Chief Editor of International Journal of Pediatric Nursing and Reviewer of Red Flower Publications.
