Nazima Arif honoured as Best Freelance Makeup Artist in Bengaluru for third year in a row

Wedding is one of the most important events in a woman’s life and looking best on that special day is the wish of every woman. It is said that when you love yourself, you look more beautiful. These days, anyone with a sense of style has myriad of options to pick from. However, you cannot really complete an ensemble without the perfect makeover! Makeup and Makeover artists play an important role as they enhance the bride’s beauty and complement her wardrobe. Meet Makeup artist and Makeover specialist Nazima Arif, founder of Studio Nazima, who has been honoured with The Best Freelance Makeup artist in Bengaluru award for the third year in a row at the recently concluded India Business Awards 2017.

Nazima wasn’t into this field until 2007. She used to do a 9 to 5 job for a multinational company in the marketing team as an event organiser. But she always felt what she was doing was not the area of her calling. She wanted to do something creative so she did a course in Interior designing. She does undertake projects for interior design even now – but only for friends and family. Her near and dear ones always lauded her creative instincts and also the way she carried and presented herself. Seeing her talent, her loved ones, and especially her father, coaxed her to pursue a career as a Makeover specialist. After her father’s sad demise in 2007, his advice and guidance kept on lingering in Nazima’s mind. That’s when she decided to pursue this profession seriously and underwent an advanced course in this art.

I personally thought that anybody could do basic makeup and nothing great about it.But when I took this seriously and went to educate myself in this field, I realised there is so much to it. The learning in this field is never ending.

Coming from a Muslim and a well-to-do family, it wasn’t easy initially as people didn’t appreciate her decision. However, her immediate family and close friends supported her completely and that motivated her to go after her dreams. Not everyone can master this creative art. One needs strong imagination, understanding, research and hardwork. Such specialists who can make the thorough use of cosmetics and other tools to give that desired look can only succeed in this industry. Nazima, with her creative talent, kept on winning the hearts of her clients one after another. Her talent got recognized through word of mouth and she hasn’t looked back ever since.

Making a bride look more beautiful and seeing how she feels happy and gets excited seeing her makeover is a very special feeling altogether that can’t be expressed in words. Trust me it has to be felt from within!
