Education plays a vital role in building the future of our nation by transforming lives and communities. We have several educator heroes who help students aim high and achieve their potential, often meeting and overcoming considerable challenges along the way. Recently Delhi based MT Research & Educational Services (MTRES) came up with the second edition of their Teaching Excellence Awards (TEA) 2019, to recognize the monumental role teachers play in our society to create tomorrow’s leaders as they instil a desire to learn and achieve. The awards celebrate the efforts of all those who go above and beyond to promote excellence within our education system. Meet Dr. Qamrul Hasan Lari, working as Reader in Department of Kulliyat (Basic Principles of Unani Medicine), State Unani Medical College and Hospital, Prayagraj (UP), who has been honoured with Excellent Teacher Award in MTRES TEA 2019.

Dr. Qamrul Hasan Lari
Dr Lari completed BUMS (Bachelor in Unani Medicine and Surgery) in 2001 and MD-Unani (Kulliyat wa Ilmul Amraz) in 2006 from Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh. During pursuance of BUMS Course, he achieved 2nd position in Final Professional (Part-1) Examination and distinctions in the 4 subjects: Ilmul Amraz wa Jarasim (Pathology and Bacteriology), Saririyat(Clinical Bedside), Amraz-e-Uzn, Anaf wa Halaq (E.N.T.), Amraz-e-Ain (Opthalmology). He was awarded with University Medal for securing highest marks in MD examination 2006 from AMU, Aligarh. Prior to joining MD at A.M.U, he had also achieved 1st rank in MD (Unani) Entrance Test (2002-2003) conducted by NTR University of Health Science, Vijaywada, Andhra Pradesh. He also holds PG Diploma in Hospital Management (PGDHM) from Annamalai University through Distance Education.
Dr Lari started his professional career as Lecturer at Deoband Unani Medical College, Hospital and Research Centre, Deoband, Saharanpur. He also served as Medical Officer (Community Health) at Faizabad under UP Government. Later, he worked as Lecturer and Reader in the Department of Kulliyat at State Takmeel-ut-Tib College and Hospital, Lucknow. He is presently working as Reader in the Department of Kulliyat at State Unani Medical College and Hospital, Prayagraj (UP).
Dr Lari has delivered lectures as speaker in various Continuing Unani Medical Education(CUME) / CME / Unani Educational Programme. He has also participated as delegate in various Teachers Training Programme, Symposium, CME, Workshops and presented research papers in various International and National Conferences and Seminars on Unani Medicine and other traditional systems of Medicine. He has published several research papers and articles in reputed International and National Journals, proceedings and magazines. Citations of his research papers have also been done in various International and National Journals, Books and Thesis.
He is presently associated as Member-Editoral Board, International Journal of Homeopathy and Natural Medicine (IJNHM) and Senior Editor, Journal of Ayurveda and Integrated Medical Sciences (JAIMS)-Specialized International peer reviewed indexed online Journal. Along with being reviewer of journals, he has also contributed as Assistant Editor in the Proceedings and Sub-editor in the College Magazine. He has also chaired scientific session in 19th International Conference on Integrated Medicine for Perfect Health.
His professional memberships includes Life Member-Indian Science Congress Association (ISCA), Indian Public Health Association, Indian Red Cross Society (UP), Association of Gerontology (India), Avicenna Research Centre for Unani Medicine, Alzheimer’s and Related disorders Society of India(ARDSI), etc.
Along with active participation in public health programmes, Dr Lari has also been a member of the organizing committee in Unani Day celebrations and various Literary & Cultural programmes. He has received Certificate of appreciation for rendering appreciable services during the Pulse Polio Immunization Campaign. He was member-Coordination Committee of Ajmal 2000 (Literary and Cultural Programme) and was also honoured with certificate of Merit by Literary and Cultural Society, RM Hall. He has also received Special Credit Certificate by University Literary Club, Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh, in recognition of his immense capabilities in the management as Strategy and Planning Manager and for impressive contributions to the various club activities. His Biographical note has also been included in Famous India: Nation’s Who’s Who (October-2016), Asia Pacific Who’s Who (Vol XIV).
